Mary Murphy was named head of global consultant relations at GAM Investments, a spokeswoman said.
In this new position, Ms. Murphy is responsible for building strategic relationships with both global and U.K. local consultants and works to expand GAM's business through this channel. She reports to Jill Barber, global head of institutional solutions.
Ms. Murphy rejoined GAM on Monday after leaving her role as client director of U.K. institutional business in 2016.
"Mary brings a wealth of knowledge and consultant relations experience to this role," Ms. Barber said in a news release issued Wednesday. "In collaboration with our regional distribution teams, I am confident that she will broaden and deepen our relationships with consultants, helping us to better service the needs of our growing client base."
Ms. Murphy previously was director at BlackRock's global consultant relations group. A company representative could not be immediately be reached to provide details about Ms. Murphy's replacement.
GAM had 126 billion Swiss francs ($136.8 billion) in assets under management as of June 30.
