Chris Longworth was appointed head of GAM Systematic at GAM Investments, a spokeswoman confirmed.
In addition to the role, which is newly created, Mr. Longworth retains his responsibilities as investment director of the GAM Systematic Core Macro strategy.
Joining Mr. Longworth's team are investment director Danny Dhingra, who leads the GAM Systematic Commodities strategy, and Guglielmo Mazzola, who was promoted to head of systematic investments. He was previously senior investment specialist.
Messrs. Dhingra and Mazzola report to Mr. Longworth.
"These changes represent a significant strengthening of our systematic team," Mr. Longworth said in a news release Thursday.
"I have known Danny for many years, and he brings a wealth of systematic investment experience and will be an invaluable contributor to our research efforts on GAM Systematic Core Macro, as well as continuing to lead on GAM Systematic Commodities. I am also delighted that Guglielmo will now report directly to me to enable even closer collaboration as we work to develop solutions for our clients," he added.
GAM had 74.6 billion Swiss francs ($76.2 billion) in assets under management as of Sept. 30.
