Sophie McFadyen joined GAM, a Zurich-based money manager with roughly $132 billion in assets under management, in Sydney as a senior manager — institutional business.
The position, focused on growing and servicing GAM's institutional business in Australia, is new, a spokeswoman for GAM said.
Ms. McFadyen will report to Alex Zaika, GAM's head of Australia.
She was a vice president on BlackRock's client business team, focused on institutional and wealth clients in Australia, according to a GAM news release.
A BlackRock spokeswoman in Hong Kong couldn't be reached for comment.
