Con Michalakis was named chief investment officer at Funds SA, the A$46 billion ($29.4 billion) South Australian investment management firm headquartered in Adelaide, effective in February.
Matt Kempton, director of equities, will continue as acting CIO at Funds SA in the interim. He has been interim CIO since Richard Friend stepped down as CIO in May after almost eight years.
Michalakis is deputy chief investment officer of portfolio construction at the A$120 billion Hostplus Superannuation, Melbourne. He was CIO at Statewide Superannuation for 14 years until it merged with Hostplus in 2022.
A Hostplus spokesperson did not respond to a query about his replacement.
