Jonathan Curtis, senior vice president, will assume the role of director of portfolio management for Franklin Templeton's equity group on Feb. 1.
The position is new, a spokesman said.

"In his roles as portfolio manager and sector-team lead, Jonathan has exemplified our culture of collaboration and commitment to delivering strong outcomes four our clients," Mr. McCarthy said in the statement, adding "this promotion recognizes Jonathan's contributions to the team and illustrates our commitment to developing leaders in support of the investment process and our clients."
