Franklin Templeton made a number of leadership appointments as Julian Ide was named vice chair, EMEA for the firm, stepping down as head of distribution for the region and CEO of affiliate Martin Currie.
Ide was appointed vice chair, EMEA for the $1.4 trillion money manager, reporting to Jenny Johnson, president and CEO. He will engage with senior decision-makers across financial institutes in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, a news release said. The role is full time, a spokesperson confirmed.
Ide was head of EMEA distribution and also oversaw India distribution at Franklin Templeton. He was also CEO of Martin Currie, an affiliate and global active equity specialist with $21.2 billion in assets under management.
Matt Harrison was appointed head of Europe and U.K. distribution, responsible for developing the distribution strategy and further expanding Franklin Templeton's business in the region. Harrison will relocate to London from Sydney in the next few months and reports to Adam Spector, executive vice president and head of global distribution.
Harrison was co-head of Asia-Pacific at Franklin Templeton. Tariq Ahmad was made sole head of APAC distribution. Ahmad reports to Spector.
Sandeep Singh took on the India distribution responsibilities as head of Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa and India distribution, an expansion of his previous responsibilities as head of CEEMEA distribution.
"Over the last several years, we have been purposefully transforming and strategically expanding our firm," Spector said in the release. "In crucial markets, including U.K., Europe, Middle East and Africa and Asia-Pacific, we have made significant strides in growing our distribution channels. Building on this momentum, it is important for us to evolve our leadership talent as we focus on delivering long-term value to our clients."

Mair was chief operating officer. Stuart Davidson, chief finance officer and chief operating officer, and Sheena Smith, chief of staff and head of inclusion, diversity and equity, take on Mair's responsibilities as COO, a separate news release said.
