Jean-Marc Pont joined Franklin Templeton as head of sustainable and institutional product, EMEA, working closely with the firm's specialist investment managers.
The position is new, a spokeswoman confirmed.
Mr. Pont is based in Paris and works closely with the $1.4 trillion firm's distribution teams, its specialist investment managers — including global equity manager ClearBridge Investments and fixed-income firm Western Asset Management Co., its global sustainability strategy team and clients.
"Our clients are increasingly searching for both investment returns and real-world outcomes, and this requires us to continue to evolve our product offerings to meet these needs," said Jaspal Sagger, head of global product strategy, in a news release. "This new hire demonstrates the importance of specialist knowledge within the sustainable investment space to better support clients' motivations, alongside an evolving regulatory landscape."
Mr. Pont joined from Generali Investments, where he was responsible for leading product strategy and design for SRI, thematic equity and multiasset strategies, the news release said. A spokeswoman could not be reached for comment.
