Nor Hanifah Hashim was named head of Franklin Templeton's Malaysia business, the company announced Tuesday.
Ms. Hanifah replaces Avinash Satwalekar. The company announced three months earlier that Mr. Satwalekar will take on the role of president of Franklin Templeton's India business in June.
Ms. Hanifah will retain her current role as CEO of Franklin Templeton GSC Asset Management, the company's Shariah-compliant entity in Malaysia.
In addition, Jackie Goh, Kuala Lumpur-based senior manager, institutional sales, has been named head of institutional sales for Malaysia, while David Jong, senior manager, retail sales, has been named head of retail sales.
Both positions are new ones at the firm, said a Franklin Templeton spokesman.
