Tariq Ahmad was named head of Asia distribution for Franklin Templeton on Wednesday.
The Singapore-based position — overseeing the group's sales, marketing and product strategy efforts in Asia, excluding Japan, India and mainland China — is new, a spokeswoman said.
Mr. Ahmad will report to Vivek Kudva, head of Asia-Pacific distribution.
Mr. Ahmad previously was director, head of Asia and CEO of Franklin Templeton affiliate Brandywine Global Investment Management (Asia) Pte. John Tsao, director at Brandywine Global, will take on the role of CEO, Brandywine Global (Asia).
