Andrew Moss joined digital asset trading company GSR in London as managing director of its new business unit GSR Capital, focused on developing investment vehicles for institutional investors looking to invest in digital assets.
Mr. Moss, in a GSR news release, said GSR will play a role in helping hedge funds, insurers and institutions eying digital assets now take their first steps into the digital asset space.
A spokesman for the firm said in an email that digital assets include "digital currencies, such as Bitcoin, Ethereum and various other tokens, often tied to projects. They don't include tokenized real estate, tokenized private investments – but that's not to say that they won't be a possibility down the road."
Cristian Gil, a co-founder of the firm, in the news release said GSR is "focused on delivering the capital ,market structure and investment vehicles to drive the next wave of institutional activity."
Mr. Moss was co-chief operating officer at hedge fund firm Winton. He left late in 2019 after a 14-year stint with the firm. A Winton spokesman couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
