John Panagakis was named CEO of First Principles Capital Management, a fixed-income money manager.
Mr. Panagakis is based in New York and started Wednesday at the American International Group subsidiary, AIG spokeswoman Carla Ferrara said in an email. He reports to Douglas A. Dachille, AIG’s executive vice president and chief investment officer.
He replaces Richard F. Dolan, who became managing partner and moved to a strategic advisory role at the end of 2017, Ms. Ferrara said. There was no interim CEO, she said.
Mr. Panagakis was previously head of Nuveen’s international advisory services team. He was replaced in February by Alexander Prout, previously the Hong Kong-based head of Asia-Pacific at Deutsche Asset Management.
First Principles has about $8 billion in assets under management.
