Wenzel Hoberg joined Montreal-based Fiera Capital as global head of real estate.
Mr. Hoberg, who started Monday, is based in the company's Toronto office.
He replaces Richard Dansereau and reports to John Valentini, president and CEO of private markets, a spokeswoman said in an email.
Mr. Hoberg will lead the growth of Fiera's Canadian and U.K. real estate platforms, which totaled C$7.8 billion ($5.7 billion) in assets under management as of Sept.30, said a news release.
"Wenzel brings a proven track record of leading high-performing real estate teams in Europe and Canada," Mr. Valentini said in the news release.
He added that Mr. Hoberg's "global insight and deep experience in real estate and in successfully navigating complex economic cycles will make him a valuable asset in the firm's strategy for growth as we continue to aim for attractive return generation and optimization for our investors."
Mr. Hoberg previously was president of Barnhart Capital, a Toronto-based real estate firm. A Barnhart spokesman said a replacement for Mr. Hoberg has not been named.
As of Sept. 30, Fiera Capital managed a total of C$158.3 billion.
