Michael Quigley joined Fiera Capital as executive vice president and head of institutional markets.
Mr. Quigley, who started Aug. 12, oversees Fiera's Canadian institutional distribution strategy. He reports to Jean-Philippe Lemay, president and chief operating officer of Fiera's Canadian division.
The position had been vacant for about six months, Mr. Lemay said in an email, adding "it was important to us that we find a leader with a skill set that complements our already strong institutional markets team, so we did not want to rush the process. We're confident that Michael Quigley has these skills and the expertise to build on the team's success in Canada."
Mr. Lemay did not provide the name of Mr. Quigley's predecessor.
Mr. Quigley was vice president and led the institutional business development team for Phillips, Hager & North. Chris W. Dotson, a spokesman for RBC Global Asset Management, PH&N's parent company didn't name Mr. Quigley's successor in an email, instead noting "we have a talented and experienced business development team that remains focused on continually broadening our reach across the Canadian institutional investor landscape. We have no further changes to announce at this time."
Fiera Capital managed C$149.5 billion ($114.2 billion) as of June 30. PH&N managed about C$100 billion as of Dec. 31.
