Fidelity International appointed Lukasz de Pourbaix as global cross-asset specialist, the firm said in a statement on Monday.
The appointment is not a direct replacement for a previous role, a Fidelity spokeswoman said.
He will help the investment team to identify new investment capabilities and products to introduce to the Australian market. He will also work closely with clients to communicate the firm's broad investment strategy, market commentary and performance, the statement said.
Mr. de Pourbaix is based in Sydney and reports to the managing director of Fidelity Australia, Lawrence Hanson.
Fidelity International manages $739.9 billion in assets.
Mr. de Pourbaix was most recently executive director and chief investment officer at Lonsec Investment Solutions, where he was responsible for investment strategy, portfolio construction, product development and team leadership.
Lonsec, which had A$7.4 billion ($5.1 billion) in AUM as of Feb 9, announced his departure in April and said multiasset portfolio manager Deanne Baker took up the post of interim CIO. His executive director responsibilities were taken on by Michael Wright, CEO.
