EOS at Federated Hermes, a stewardship service provider, hired Ross Teverson as regional team lead for Asia and global emerging markets.
Mr. Teverson started in the role on Jan. 9. He replaced Hannah Shoesmith who left last summer, a spokesman said.
He leads the team in the development and delivery of EOS's engagement plan for corporate and public policy in those regions. The Asia and emerging markets team comprises two engagement specialists based in London, who report directly to Mr. Teverson.
He is based in London but will travel to Asia and other emerging markets as and when required.
He reports to Bruce Duguid, head of stewardship, who is also based in London.
"Global momentum behind shareholder proposals on climate and human rights remain on the increase, with Asia and emerging markets at the forefront of this expansion," Mr. Teverson said in a statement released on Wednesday.
"The team and I look forward to broadening the climate conversation from a focus on environmental risk to amplify the social risk of failing to ensure a just transition, alongside our existing program of engagement," he said.
Human and labor rights, and climate are among EOS's identified priority themes as part of its engagement plan for 2022-2024. In 2022, EOS engaged with 270 companies across Asia and global emerging markets.
Federated Hermes had $624.4 billion in AUM as of Sept. 30.
Mr. Teverson was most recently head of strategy for global emerging market equities at Jupiter Asset Management, where he also was a member of the stewardship committee and leadership group. Jupiter had $53 billion in assets under management as of Sept. 30. A spokeswoman said Nick Payne now leads the global emerging markets equities team.
