Elisa Alvares has joined London-based global private market investment firm Tower Peak Partners as managing partner and chief investment officer for global rights and intellectual property, said a March 11 news release.
In this newly created role, Alvares will be responsible for building the firm’s investment capabilities in global rights and intellectual property, “with the goal to develop a fund focused on IP assets across a range of industries, which are pivotal for the development of the global digital-knowledge economy and are currently undergoing transformative changes,” the release noted.
The team and its new investment strategy will initially focus on intellectual property assets within the entertainment and sports sectors, with a particular emphasis will be focused on audio-visual production and distribution, and sports rights, the release added.
Prior to joining Tower Peak, Alavares founded Jacaranda Group, a London-based investment advisory firm focused on advising institutional investors and family offices on investment and fund mandates across the media and entertainment sector.
A spokesperson for Tower Peak said the firm launched last year and is in the process of fundraising for several strategies but, given these are live processes, they cannot comment further on money raised.
