Colin Teichholtz will join global macro manager Element Capital Management as a managing director and head of markets in November.
The position is new, spokeswoman Samantha Norquist confirmed.
Mr. Teichholtz will work with Jeffrey Talpins, the firm’s CEO and CIO, in researching “big picture macro themes” and policy development, Ms. Norquist said in an email.
Mr. Teichholtz is senior portfolio manager and head of global markets and agency mortgage-backed securities at BlueMountain Capital Management.
BlueMountain spokesman Thomas Vogel said in an email that Mr. Teichholtz’s will leave the firm Nov. 1 and not be replaced.
Element Capital manages $18 billion.
