Bill Maldonado was appointed CEO of Eastspring Investments, the asset management business of U.K. insurer Prudential plc, effective Sept. 1, after serving as interim CEO.
Based in Singapore, Mr. Maldonado will report to Anil Wadhwani, Prudential's CEO, said a Tuesday release.
Mr. Maldonado has served as interim CEO of Eastspring since April, having initially joined the firm in September 2021. He has also served as its chief investment officer since May 2022.
A new chief investment officer for Eastspring will be appointed "in due course," the release added.
Until a new chief investment officer has been appointed, Mr. Maldonado "will oversee the investment teams and will be supported by the respective heads of investments," said a company spokesman said by email.
Eastspring had more than $221 billion in assets under management as of year-end 2022.
