Ray Farris was appointed chief economist at Eastspring Investments, the $271 billion asset management business of insurer Prudential, according to a statement on Jan. 6.
In the newly created role, Farris provides macroeconomic views and research for both Prudential and Eastspring. His provision of data, trends and insights will guide Eastspring’s investment and asset allocation decisions, the statement said.
He is based in Singapore and reports to chief investment officer Vis Nayar.
Farris was most recently chief economist and chief investment officer for the Americas at Credit Suisse based in New York, which he left in Dec. 2023. He was with the bank for over 20 years, mostly based in Singapore where he held senior positions such as chief economist for APAC and CIO for South Asia.
