Eastspring Investments hired Faizal Gaffoor as deputy regional CEO for Asia and head of products and partnerships, based in Singapore.
Mr. Gaffoor joined Eastspring in December and reports to Wendy Lim, regional CEO of Asia and global head of distribution, marketing and products.
Mr. Gaffoor oversees business growth in Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam, and the execution of product strategies for retail and institutional clients, the company said in a statement on Tuesday. He takes on some responsibilities previously held by Ms. Lim as regional CEO for Southeast Asia. Ms. Lim was made regional CEO for Asia in June.
The statement said that he will also be responsible for Eastspring's business relationship management with Prudential Life entities and will grow the firm's investment-linked insurance policies and non-ILP businesses.
Eastspring is the asset management business of Prudential and had $222 billion of assets under management as at June 30.
Mr. Gaffoor was most recently managing director and group chief marketing officer at UOB Asset Management, a firm he joined in 1997.
UOB AM spokesmen could not immediately be reached for comment on his replacement.
