Dana Emery, chair and CEO of Dodge & Cox, will retire Dec. 31, according to a firm update on its website.
Succeeding her in the CEO role as well taking on the role of chair of the Dodge & Cox funds will be Roger Kuo, the president of Dodge & Cox, effective Jan. 1, 2026. Kuo will also continue in his role as president.
Succeeding Emery on that date in the role of chair of Dodge & Cox will be David Hoeft, chief investment officer, who will continue in the CIO role.
According to the firm update, Emery will transition her responsibilities throughout the year. Her retirement brings to end more than 40 years with Dodge & Cox, which she joined in 1983. She has had many roles over the years, including president and director of fixed income.
As of Dec. 31, 2023, Dodge & Cox had $363 billion in assets under management.
