Jim Whittington was appointed head of responsible investment at Dimensional Fund Advisors, effective Nov. 1, a spokeswoman said.
Mr. Whittington will replace Joe Chi, who will retire at the end of the year.
Based in London, Mr. Whittington serves as senior portfolio manager and vice president and is a member of Dimensional's investment stewardship committee. His replacement is not yet known.
Meanwhile, Lacey Huebel was named head of responsible investment, North America, also effective Nov. 1.
In addition to the newly created role, Ms. Huebel will continue to serve as portfolio manager and vice president. She is based in Austin, Texas.
"These appointments will further our decades-long commitment to sustainability," Gerard O'Reilly, co-CEO and CIO of Dimensional Fund Advisors, said in a news release Thursday.
Dimensional had $653 billion in assets under management as of Sept. 30.
