Savina Rizova was appointed co-chief investment officer at Dimensional Fund Advisors, effective Feb.1.
The role is new, a spokesperson said.
Rizova will work alongside Gerard O'Reilly, who is also co-CEO.
As co-CIOs, O'Reilly and Rizova will lead a team of more than 300 investment professionals across six countries, a news release said.
Rizova has been global head of research since 2017 and retains those responsibilities.
Dimensional also said Brad Steiman was named president of Dimensional Canada, effective Jan. 1. He was head of the wealth management group for Dimensional Fund Advisors Canada.
Dimensional had $677 billion in assets under management as of Dec. 31.
