CVC Capital Partners has closed CVC Strategic Opportunities II buyout fund at €4.6 billion ($5.2 billion), a news release said.
The closing exceeds its original €4 billion fundraising target. The fund seeks long-term opportunities in Western Europe and North America, the news release said.
Investors include the $226.1 billion California State Teachers' Retirement System, West Sacramento, and the $210 billion New York State Common Retirement Fund, Albany.
A CVC spokesman declined to comment.
