Yoshihisa Kojima will oversee Columbia Threadneedle Investments' newly opened office in Tokyo as representative director and CEO, head of Japan.
Mr. Kojima, who previously served as executive director, Japan, in Columbia Threadneedle's office in Singapore, has relocated to Tokyo to take on his new role, a spokeswoman for the firm said.
The new office "will serve existing institutional clients and partners in Japan and allow Columbia Threadneedle to develop new relationships," a news release said.
Another spokeswoman declined to say how much of Columbia Threadneedle's $593 billion in global assets under management the firm is managing on behalf of Japanese clients.
