Jon Cheigh was promoted to CIO of real estate money manager Cohen & Steers, a spokesman said.
Mr. Cheigh, who had been executive vice president, will retain his role of head of global real estate at the the firm. He replaces Joseph Harvey, who will continue to serve as president and a member of Cohen & Steers' board of directors.
Mr. Harvey is stepping away from his CIO role to enable him to focus on oversight of the company as president and a recently appointed member of Cohen & Steers board of directors, the spokesman said. Mr. Harvey was appointed to the board in August.
CEO Robert Steers said in a statement: "Through his leadership of the global real estate team, Jon has played a key role in extending our legacy of investment excellence by fostering a culture of collaboration and inclusion."
Cohen & Steers, which manages publicly traded real assets, has $70.8 billion under management.
