Bess Joffe will join the Church Commissioners for England, London, as head of responsible investment.
Ms. Joffe will replace Edward Mason, who in April was named director of engagement and impact reporting at Generation Investment Management.
Ms. Joffe will start Aug. 10 and report to CIO Tom Joy, a news release said. She will lead stewardship efforts for Church Commissioners, which manages a £8.7 billion ($11.1 billion) portfolio of assets.
"Bess joins us with an established record of leading stewardship efforts, and we are very much looking forward to furthering the way the Commissioners engage across our diverse range of holdings," Mr. Joy said in the news release. Managing the fund "in an ethical and responsible way is fundamental to the way we work."
Ms. Joffe was director of investor relations-ESG at Lloyds Banking Group.
