Carmine De Franco was appointed head of quant equity for BNP Paribas Asset Management, overseeing €7.3 billion ($8.1 billion) of quantitative assets.
De Franco reports to Olivier Laplénie, head of quant portfolio management. Details on whether this is a new role could not immediately be learned.
“With his experience in the fields of quantitative investment and sustainability, I am confident that Carmine will continue growing our successful quant equity franchise and will deliver long-term performance for our clients,” Robinson Rouchie, CIO systematic and quant investment team, said in a release.
De Franco was head of research and ESG at Ossiam, a Paris-based investment manager and affiliate of Natixis Investment Managers. Ksenya Rulik was announced as De Franco’s replacement on Sept. 5.
