As Carlyle Group plans to reopen its London office on Sept. 1, the private equity firm has adopted a new policy for its employees who plan to commute — avoid public transportation or stay home.
The company confirmed that, to protect against the spread of the coronavirus, the policy requires staff using public transit to stay away from the office for 14 days.
"Returning to the office is entirely voluntary and our global policy, which includes encouraging workers not to use public transportation, is designed to protect the health and wellbeing of every colleague," a statement issued by the company read.
Although only the London location is currently scheduled to reopen, the policy applies to all of Carlyle's 31 global offices.
