Marino Valensise was named group CIO at Cardano Group.
The role is new, a spokeswoman said. Mr. Valensise will oversee investment strategies and portfolio construction for all clients across the group, effective June 1. Based in the U.K., he will work closely with Keith Guthrie, deputy CIO, and Tom Rivers, head of strategy.
"Marino's deep investment experience will be very valuable as we face major market uncertainty, alongside opportunities through the current dislocations," Michael De Lathauwer, CEO of the Cardano Group, said in a news release.
Mr. Valensise was head of multiasset group and chairman of the strategic policy group at Barings. Details of his replacement could not immediately be learned.
Cardano Group has £300 billion ($367 billion) under advisement and manages £26 billion through its fiduciary management business.
