Murray Brewer joined Capital Group in Sydney as a managing director and head of the firm's Australia client group on Thursday, a spokeswoman confirmed.
The position, covering both sales and client service, is new.
Based in Sydney, Mr. Brewer reports to Guy Henriques, Capital's head of client group for Europe and Asia.
Capital Group, based in Los Angeles, had $2.3 trillion in assets under management as of Dec. 31. A spokeswoman declined to provide a figure for the share of its assets currently managed for Australian or APAC-based investors.
Mr. Brewer was previously director and country head of distribution for T. Rowe Price in Australia and New Zealand. He retired from the Baltimore-based manager at the end of 2020, 14 years after opening its Sydney office. Darren Hall was named as his replacement.
