Jessica Ground will join Capital Group as global head of ESG, a spokeswoman said.
The position is new, and Ms. Ground will start in September. She will be based in London and will further incorporate the firm's environmental, social and governance approach into its investment process on a global basis.
She will work with teams across investment groups, distribution, marketing and technology and will also represent the $1.7 trillion money manager in organizations that work to promote ESG issues.
"At Capital Group, we have a long history of conducting deep fundamental research and engaging closely with portfolio companies on ESG issues," said Robert W. Lovelace, vice chairman, in a news release. "We're delighted to appoint someone of Jessica's caliber and experience to work with our teams to further integrate ESG at Capital Group. ESG is an area of great strategic importance for us and our clients, and we will continue to invest resources to it."
Ms. Ground was global head of stewardship at Schroders. Andy Howard was named as her replacement.
