Scott Steele joined Capital Group as head of fixed income business development for Asia and Europe.
The London-based position is new.
Mr. Steele will have responsibility for Capital Group's fixed income distribution strategy and product development for institutional and intermediary clients in Asia and Europe.
A spokeswoman for the firm declined to say what portion of Capital Group's $457.9 billion in fixed income assets as of June 30 was managed on behalf of clients in Asia and Europe.
Mr. Steele will report to Alexandra Haggard, Capital's London-based head of product and investment services for Asia and Europe.
As of June 30, Capital Group reported a total $2.2 trillion in assets under management.
Mr. Steele was global head of fixed income client portfolio management at Janus Henderson Investors in London.
A Janus Henderson spokesman couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
