Calamos Investments acquired Pearl Impact Capital, a sustainable investment firm with about $120 million in assets under management, as part of a plan to expand its ESG capabilities, confirmed Calamos spokesman Jeff Kelley in an email.
Terms of the deal, which closed Tuesday, were not disclosed.
In addition, Calamos appointed Anthony Tursich and James Madden as co-portfolio managers to lead the firm's sustainable equities team.
Messrs. Tursich and Madden will be in charge of developing, launching and managing ESG-related strategies for the firm. They will report to John Calamos, chairman and global CIO, and John Koudounis, president and CEO.
Mr. Tursich was most recently founder, CIO and portfolio manager of Pearl Impact Capital. Mr. Madden was a portfolio manager at Trillium Asset Management. Matt Patsky, CEO of Trillium, has moved from being co-lead portfolio manager to sole lead portfolio manager for the ESG global equity strategy, a spokeswoman confirmed. Meanwhile, Patrick Wollenberg remains a portfolio manager of the strategy and has been joined by co-portfolio manager Laura McGonagle and CIO John Quealy.
Calamos Investments has more than $40 billion in assets under management.
