Brown Advisory hired three portfolio managers to establish and lead a new team responsible for global sustainable fixed-income strategies.
Chris Diaz, Ryan Myerberg and Colby Stilson joined the global investment management firm effective immediately and will launch a strategy in about three months, a spokeswoman said. The team will work closely with the existing U.S.-focused sustainable fixed-income team. The firm already manages three U.S. strategies: sustainable core fixed income, tax-exempt sustainable fixed income and sustainable short duration. The firm's total fixed-income AUM was $5.8 billion as of Dec. 31.
Mr. Diaz was co-head of global bonds at Janus Henderson Investors. Mr. Diaz took a career break after nine years at Janus Henderson, leaving in November, a statement said. He had been co-head alongside Nick Maroutsos, who became sole head of global bonds following Mr. Diaz's departure.
Mr. Myerberg was head of absolute-return fixed income at Amundi. A spokesman said Cosimo Marasciulo, deputy head of European fixed income, is also taking over responsibility for the absolute-return alpha group.
Mr. Stilson was a managing partner at fintech investment firm TIFIN Group.
The trio previously worked together at Janus Capital.
"We are delighted that we could bring this team back together to join us at Brown Advisory," said Logie Fitzwilliams, partner and head of international business and global head of sales at Brown Advisory, in a news release. "The trio will bring a new global sustainable fixed-income strategy to market later this year, combining many of Brown Advisory's established fundamental and sustainable research methods, with their own extensive expertise."
