John St.Hill joined British Airways Pension Investment Management as deputy CIO and head of matching assets, a spokesman confirmed.
The role is new, "reflecting the increasing importance of matching assets across our client portfolios," the spokesman added.
Mr. St.Hill reports to David Stewart, CIO.
The firm oversees £25.5 billion ($31.5 billion) in retirement plan assets, including the Airways Pension Scheme, Hounslow, England. The fund had £7.9 billion ($9.8 billion) in assets as of March 31, 2019.
Mr. St.Hill was deputy CIO at the National Employment Savings Trust, London. The retirement plan had £9.5 billion in assets as of March 31.
A spokesman for NEST wished Mr. St.Hill well in his new challenge. He has not been replaced and his responsibilities are currently being shared among the team.
