Dawn Tutje was named the head of financial institutions group in North America at BNY Mellon Investment Management, the firm announced Monday.
Ms. Tutje will be responsible for developing client relationships and leading the sales strategy for BNY Mellon's multiasset investment platform within the subadvisory/insurance, defined contribution investment only, private bank and mega RIA areas, a news release said.
She will be based in New York and report to Andy Provencher, head of North America distribution.
It was not known who held Ms. Tutje's post previously at BNY.
Ms. Tutje was previously an executive director and head of subadvisory, DCIO, and clearing and custody platforms at Morgan Stanley Investment Management. A spokeswoman at Morgan Stanley declined to comment.
Mr. Provencher said in the news release that Ms. Tutje's "depth of experience and industry relationships will enable us to deliver the full breadth of our investment capabilities and grow a number of sales initiatives underway, including our recently launched BNY Mellon Custom Target Date Builder, along with developing new private banking and subadvisory relationships."
"Dawn brings wide-ranging financial service experience, sales talent and team building that will drive the financial institutions group in achieving future success," he added.
BNY Mellon Investment Management had $2 trillion in assets under management as of Sept. 30.
