David Choa will become head of Greater China equities at BNP Paribas Asset Management, effective July 1.
Mr. Choa, deputy of the firm's Greater China equities team, will replace Caroline Maurer.
Ms. Maurer will leave the firm at the end of August to pursue other interests, a BNP Paribas spokesman said. Ms. Maurer could not immediately be reached for comment. Details of any replacement for Mr. Choa could not immediately be learned.
In his Hong Kong-based role, Mr. Choa will manage a team of four professionals and analysts split between Hong Kong and Shanghai. He will report to Frederic Surry, deputy head of fundamental active equities.
BNP Paribas had €553 billion ($611.5 billion) of assets under management and advisement as of 31 March 2020.
