Maya Bhandari was named global head of multiasset at BNP Paribas Asset Management, effective Nov. 1, a spokesman said.
Ms. Bhandari will replace Christophe Moulin, who is moving to another position within the company. Details of his new role are not yet known, according to the spokesman.
Based in London, Ms. Bhandari will focus on strengthening the investment process as well as contribute to fundamental research and integration of ESG into the firm's multiasset offering. She will report to Denis Panel, CIO of multiasset, quantitative and solutions.
"Maya is a well-recognized multiasset portfolio manager and brings a wealth of expertise in cross-asset investing, with a clear and consistent approach that has delivered strong returns to investors across a range of strategies and periods. She has a positive approach to thought leadership, team management and diversity & inclusion, which is an important cultural fit, as well as to ESG, which will enable its further integration within our portfolios," Mr. Panel said in a news release.
BNP Paribas Asset Management had €489 billion ($582.1 billion) in assets under management as of June 30.
Ms. Bhandari had been executive director of the multiasset portfolio business of Columbia Threadneedle Investments. A spokeswoman said Toby Nangle, global head of asset allocation and head of multiasset, Europe, the Middle East and Africa will manage portfolios run by Ms. Bhandari in addition to his existing portfolios.
