Steven Billiet was named head of global client group at BNP Paribas Asset Management, a spokesman confirmed.
Mr. Billiet replaced Sandro Pierri, who was named CEO of the firm in May.
Mr. Billiet was also named a member of the firm's executive committee, effective July 1. He reports to Mr. Pierri.
"Steven's experience at leading asset management firms will help further strengthen our global client group. He will be instrumental in ensuring continuity and maintain focus on delivering sustainable investment returns for our clients. I have every confidence in his ability to offer our clients the best solutions and services in line with our core values and culture," Mr. Pierri said in a news release Monday.
Mr. Billiet was CEO of BNPP AM Asia-Pacific and head of distribution for the region. The spokesman said that his replacement is yet to be confirmed.
Mr. Billiet will relocate to Paris from Hong-Kong when his replacement is appointed.
