Christophe Montcerisier was named head of real estate debt at BNP Paribas Asset Management, a spokesman said.
Mr. Montcerisier replaced Philippe Deloffre, who took a new position outside the company, the spokesman added. Further details were not available.
Mr. Montcerisier leads real estate debt investments within the firm's private debt and real assets division, reporting to Laurent Gueunier, head of real assets, small and medium enterprise lending and structured finance.
"Christophe has a dynamic approach and a mindset that is perfectly in line with our values. He brings his extensive expertise of the real estate debt sector and a strong European network that will enable us to further develop this booming business, one of the five strategic skills for BNP Paribas Asset Management," Mr. Gueunier said in a news release.
Mr. Montcerisier was deputy head of real estate debt at the firm. No decision has been made regarding a replacement, the spokesman said.
BNP Paribas Asset Management had €440 billion ($492.7 billion) in assets under management as of Dec. 31.
