Jonathan "Jon" Kelly was named a senior managing director and head of European infrastructure for Blackstone Group's infrastructure business.
Mr. Kelly will join the London office for the Blackstone Infrastructure Partners funds team on April 6, a news release said. Whether the position is new could not immediately be learned.
Mr. Kelly will be responsible for a dedicated European infrastructure team and for sourcing investment opportunities across the region.
Blackstone Group has a total $571 billion in assets under management. The infrastructure business has invested more than $45 billion in projects across the globe over the past 15 years. European assets under management and commitments could not immediately be learned.

Mr. Kelly was managing partner and head of Europe for Brookfield Asset Management's infrastructure business, Brookfield Infrastructure Partners. He was also global chief investment officer for utilities and data infrastructure. A Brookfield spokeswoman said his responsibilities have been seamlessly assumed within their leadership team.
A spokesman for Blackstone could not immediately be reached for comment.
