BlackRock on Thursday announced internal promotions within its insurance unit and product management areas.
Lyenda Simpson Delp, managing director, was promoted to head of the firm's financial institutions group Americas, BlackRock's insurance unit, according to an internal memo obtained by Pensions & Investments.
She replaced Daniel Dunay, managing director, who will assume the role of the firm's chief product officer within BlackRock's global product group. Mr. Dunay replaces Brendan Kyne, managing director, who was interim head of the group and was appointed to the new position of global head of product engineering, the company memo said.
Ms. Delp was head of relationship management for FIG Americas. She will be replaced by two managing directors from the FIG team, David Holdreith and Andrew Stack, said a BlackRock spokeswoman in an email.
Ms. Delp and Messrs. Dunay and Kyne will assume their new roles on May 16, the spokeswoman said.
Also, Mark Erickson was named a managing director to fill the newly created role of global head of business strategy for the firm's financial institutions group. He will join the firm on May 9.
Mr. Erickson was managing director and chief operating officer for investments at insurer Global Atlantic Financial Group. A spokesman for Global Atlantic did not respond to a request for information about Mr. Erickson's successor.
FIG managed $533 billion for insurance clients as of Dec. 31; BlackRock had $9.6 trillion in total assets under management as of March 31.
