Glenn Purves joined BlackRock Investment Institute on Jan. 6 as global head of macro, according to an internal memo obtained by Pensions & Investments.
Purves will lead the institute’s macroeconomic research, engaging with BlackRock’s investment leaders and delivering “actionable portfolio insights” for clients, the memo said.
He assumes those responsibilities from Alex Brazier, who took on a role outside of BII as global head of investment and portfolio solutions at BlackRock earlier in 2024.
Based in New York, Purves will report to Jean Boivin, head of the BlackRock Investment Institute.
Purves was board director at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, where he focused on Canada, Morocco, Tunisia and Jordan.
