Rimmo Jolly will join BlackRock as head of iShares Asia-Pacific, effective May 4.
The Hong Kong-based position is new, a spokeswoman said.
Mr. Jolly will report to Susan Chan, head of iShares and index investing, Asia-Pacific.
He will work with BlackRock's regional and global iShares network to create "innovative product offerings and facilitate ETF ecosystem enhancements across the region," a news release said.
Mr. Jolly will join BlackRock from Citigroup, where he serves as regional head of ETF and index sales and business development, Asia-Pacific and Japan.
A replacement for Mr. Jolly will be made "in due course," a Citi spokesman said.
