Shawn Kimble, a director at money manager Barings, was named head of U.S. real estate capital markets, Barings spokesman Fred Hawrysh said in an email.
Mr. Kimble replaces Nasir Alamgir, managing director at Barings, who was named head of real estate debt portfolio management earlier this year.
Based in Charlotte, N.C., Mr. Kimble reports to John Ockerbloom, head of U.S. real estate equity, and Benjamin Silver, head of global real estate debt.
He was previously an acquisitions officer in the southeastern U.S., working with Kevin Miller, head of acquisitions for the eastern U.S., Mr. Hawrysh said. Mr. Miller will continue covering that region.
Barings had $346 billion in assets under management as of June 30.
