Lydia Wu joined Barings in Hong Kong as head of institutional distribution, Greater China and Southeast Asia.
She replaces Tracy Lau, who left the firm earlier in the year to join Carlyle Group in Hong Kong as managing director, head of Asia Pacific Investor Relations-global credit.
Barings managed $345 billion globally as of Dec. 31. One-third of the firm's assets managed for external investors comes from clients based in the Asia-Pacific region, according to a spokeswoman for the firm.
Ms. Wu was senior vice president, Greater China at Oaktree Capital. A spokeswoman for Oaktree declined to provide further comment.
