Rachel Basarab-Horwath was named institutional sales director at AXA Investment Managers, a spokesman said.
The position is new. Ms. Basarab-Horwath leads and develops sales opportunities with institutional investors, including corporations, pension funds and professional trustees.
"(Ms. Basarab-Horwath) will be instrumental in the development of our institutional market share in the U.K. and will provide a fresh perspective on our institutional offering to evolve and ensure we are meeting the ever changing needs of our clients," said John Stainsby, head of the U.K. client group, in a news release.
Ms. Basarab-Horwath was sales director and senior investment consultant at Mercer. Details about her replacement were not available.
AXA had €750 billion ($841 billion) in assets under management as of March 31.
