Jill Barber was named global head of distribution at Aviva Investors, a spokesman said Monday.
Ms. Barber will succeed Louise Kay, who has decided to retire at the end of this year after three decades in the investment industry.
Ms. Barber will lead client, institutional and wealth sales teams in the U.K., Europe, Asia and North America. She will also oversee client experience, strategy and planning, and investment and client communications.
"Her proven leadership skills and track record of delivering commercial growth, as well as her executive committee and board-level experience, make her an excellent addition to my leadership team and our business," Mark Versey, CEO of Aviva Investors, said in a news release Monday.
Ms. Barber had worked as global head of institutional solutions at GAM Investments since November 2020. A GAM spokesman said Jeremy Roberts, global head of distribution, will additionally assume Ms. Barber's responsibilities.
Before working at GAM, Ms. Barber had senior roles at Jupiter Asset Management, Franklin Templeton Investments, Hermes Fund Management and Fidelity International.
Aviva Investors had £223 billion ($268.9 billion) in assets under management as of Dec. 31.
