Aventicum Capital Management, Doha, Qatar, agreed to acquire selected equity and fixed-income funds from Amwal, a spokeswoman said.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The funds, which are both active and passive ,will be added to Aventicum's platform. Aventicum is owned by the Qatar Investment Authority.
Amwal is expected to initially transfer $100 million of its assets under management. Other mandates are expected to follow, the spokeswoman said.
"We are looking forward to working with the Amwal team and integrating these funds into our platform, allowing us to continue building long-lasting relationships across regions," Aventicum Chairman Aladdin Hangari said in a joint news release.
"The transfer of Amwal's funds to Aventicum's institutional platform is an important step in strengthening Aventicum's presence in Qatar as one of the top investment management players," Amwal CEO Fahmi Alghussein said in the release.
